We're building the analytics platform that game studios actually need — purpose-built for gaming's unique challenges.
AreaTech was founded in early 2024 by a team of engineers and data scientists who spent years working inside game studios. We saw firsthand how generic analytics platforms failed at the unique challenges of gaming: session-based play patterns, matchmaking dynamics, live-ops cadences, and the unpredictable scale of viral moments.
Every studio we worked at ended up building custom analytics pipelines on top of generic tools — duplicating effort across the industry. We started AreaTech to solve this once and give every studio, from solo indie developers to AAA teams, access to purpose-built gaming intelligence.
Games deserve better tools. The gaming industry generates more revenue than film and music combined, yet the tooling ecosystem lags a decade behind what SaaS and e-commerce companies have access to. We're closing that gap.
Data should serve players. Analytics isn't about extracting maximum revenue — it's about understanding what makes players happy, what frustrates them, and how to build better experiences. Studios that understand their players build better games.
Speed matters. In live-ops, you can't wait 24 hours for yesterday's data. Real-time insights enable real-time decisions. When something breaks in production, you need to know in seconds, not hours.
Since our founding, we've grown to serve 140+ studio partners, process over 2.4 billion events daily, and maintain 99.97% platform uptime. Our ingestion pipeline handles burst traffic at sub-25ms latency — because game launches don't wait for your infrastructure to catch up.
We're supported by investors who understand gaming and infrastructure, including angels from leading game studios and enterprise SaaS companies. We're building for the long term — focused on product quality and customer success over hypergrowth metrics.
We're a small, focused team and we're hiring across engineering, data science, and developer relations. If you're passionate about gaming and want to work on hard infrastructure problems at scale, reach out at careers@areatech.tech.
