Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a Monthly Active User (MAU)?

A MAU is a unique player who triggers at least one event in a calendar month. The same player across multiple sessions counts as one MAU.

Can I try the Studio plan before paying?

Yes. Every Studio plan starts with a 14-day free trial with full access. No credit card required to start. If you don't upgrade, you'll automatically move to the Indie tier.

What happens if I exceed my MAU limit?

We won't cut you off mid-month. If you consistently exceed your plan limits, we'll reach out to discuss upgrading. Occasional spikes (game launches, viral moments) are handled gracefully.

Do you offer discounts for annual billing?

Yes. Annual plans receive a 20% discount. Contact us for annual pricing on the Studio plan.

Is there a startup or indie discount?

We offer extended trials and discounted rates for teams in accelerators, incubators, or pre-revenue startups. Reach out to hello@areatech.tech with details about your project.

Where is my data stored?

By default, data is stored in AWS US-East-1 (Virginia). EU customers can request EU-West-1 (Ireland) as their primary region. Enterprise plans support custom region selection.
