Today we're opening AreaTech to the public. After 8 months of building, testing, and iterating with 30+ early access studios — processing over 800 million events in private beta alone — we're confident the platform is ready for the broader gaming community.
We spent years working at game studios ranging from 5-person indie teams to 200+ person live-ops organizations. The analytics problem was always the same: generic tools designed for e-commerce or SaaS simply don't work for games.
Games have sessions, not page views. They have matchmaking queues, not shopping carts. Player churn in a live-service game looks nothing like customer churn for a subscription product. The behavioral signals are fundamentally different, and the latency requirements are orders of magnitude more demanding.
So we built the analytics platform we wished we'd had.
The public beta includes everything you need to understand your players:
We run on AWS with multi-region deployment (US-East, EU-West). The ingestion pipeline is built on a custom streaming architecture that handles burst traffic gracefully — critical for game launches and viral moments where event volume can spike 50x in minutes.
Current capacity: 2.4 billion events per day with 23ms average end-to-end latency. We've maintained 99.97% uptime since June 2024.
We're launching with a generous free tier: 10,000 monthly active users, 7-day data retention, and 3 tracked events. No credit card required. This should be enough for most indie games in development or early launch.
The Studio plan ($149/month) supports up to 500K MAU with 90-day retention, unlimited events, churn prediction, and priority support. Enterprise pricing is available for studios with larger needs.
Over the next few months we're shipping: A/B testing for live-ops experiments, revenue analytics with LTV prediction, custom alerting (Slack, Discord, PagerDuty), and a Godot SDK (currently in alpha). We're also working toward SOC 2 Type II certification, expected Q1 2025.
Sign up at areatech.tech and send your first event in under 5 minutes. If you run into anything, our team is active on Discord and always happy to help with integration questions.
We're genuinely excited to see what you build with better data. Let's go.
